Scout Camp - 2009

Jourdan went to scout camp with church out in East Colorado. He was there for a week. Jourdan worked on getting 3 badges. Wilderness Survival, Canoeing and Rock Climbing.

Wilderness Survival - Wilderness survival was probably the hardest for Jourdan. The scouts had to hike into the woods, build their own shelter, and sleep in it by themselves. No sleeping bag etc.. All he had was a sweatshirt. Jourdan said he only got about an hour of sleep. He kept hearing owls, worried about bears and mountain lions, and was freezing. Even though it wasn't the most pleasant task, he learned a lot and earned his badge.

Rock Climbing - Rock climbing was Jourdan's favorite. He loves climbing at our Rec Center, and was really excited to do it at camp. More exciting is he actually climbed a real rock ledge. Jourdan also had to learn to scale down the ledge. He has a couple of scrapes and bruises, but earned his badge.

Canoeing - I was excited Jourdan learned how to Canoe. Now he can take us out on the river - maybe? To earn the canoeing badge he had to learned how to paddle, rescue, get back into the boat without flipping it, and balancing the boat.

Jourdan went to camp with his BFF Kaden so that extra fun for them.

Wish we did that in girl scouts!
