Does it ever stop snowing?!?

I was told when I moved here it never snows. I don't know how much I believe this since it hasn't stopped snowing since December. We got a lot of snow last night and the kids ( Jourdan only, Meg is sick) has school. The school bus got stuck at our bus stop!! I think today would be a good snow day. Of course, my opinion doesn't count : )

A Great Weekend!

This weekend was a great one to say the least. Dennis and the kids came down to Colorado Springs to pick me up from my surgery recovery ( I was at my parents). On Saturday we were able to see Alex and Eric. We had such a great time with them. We decided to take the boys to the mall for a mini shopping spree since we were not able to see them on Christmas. We had a great time just shopping and talking. After the mall we decided to take the boys out to lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. Many of you know how much I dislike sea food, but the boys loved it! The boys even got creative and decided to try squid. I was disgusted by the look and smell of it, but it was pretty fun watching the boys eat it. It was kind of like watching Fear Factor! After lunch we went to Target, Toys R Us to do more shopping. It was a wonderful day! We hope to go back down to the Springs next weekend to see the boys.

Happy Birthday Jourdan!

It is so hard to believe my first born is already 11 years old. I can't believe how fast he has grown up. I still remember bring Jourdan home from the hospital like it was yesterday. Jourdan will be starting middle school next year!! We love you Jourdan!

Reconstruction - I'm DONE!!!!

I had my surgery this morning. Everything went really well. I am so happy with the results. I finally feel human again! Except for A LOT of pain, I'm doing great.

Zack was the sweetest little boy today. Zack and my Mom came with me to my surgery (Dennis had to work, and the other kids had school. Anyway, after I went into surgery my Mom asked Zack if he wanted to go out to breakfast (My surgery was 2 1/2 hours). Zack told my Mom he wanted to stay in the waiting room until I woke up. Zack said he wanted to be there to take care of me. I can't believe how sweet this was. When my Mom told me I got tears in my eyes. He is only 4 years old, and the sweetest little boy.

Thank you for all your prayers.

Surgery Tomorrow

I am down in Colorado Springs staying with my parents. I have surgery tomorrow at 7:30am. This surgery will be number 14 since my diagnoses with breast cancer 4 years ago. The surgery tomorrow should be the last of my reconstruction. Hopefully after this surgery I can put the last 4 years behind me

What a day, What a day

What a day, what a day. My Mom and I took the kids to school this morning. The first problem we encountered was the road conditions. All the roads had about a 1/2 inch of ice on them. The ice made for some tricky driving. It took us 45 minutes to drive about 3 miles. We were doing great until a car in front of us got stuck driving up a slight hill. Because this car got stuck I had to stop half way up the hill myself. So as you can imagine, I got stuck!! The ice was not letting me go up the hill or anything. So here I am stuck on the road with 3 kids in the backseat, 1 being in his PJ's. The SUV behind me got stuck also, so we had some company : ) Of course the traffic was getting really backed up by then. Finally some police came and started directing traffic. Once the traffic thinned out they came over to the car and pushed us back down the hill. Thank goodness for these police. They were so nice!! They got us unstuck and sent us on our way. Oh, and the kids never made it to school. We shall try again tomorrow.

I had to add a picture of Zack because he is so darn cute!!

Snow Day - AGAIN!!

I know I live in Ski Country, but this is getting crazy. I can't deal with all this snow. Even the kids are getting sick of the snow. I miss Texas at times like this!!!

A Good Day!

The kids have a great day at school! They had the biggest smile on their face when I picked them up. Some of the highlights were...

1. Yoga for gym
2. Seconds on hot lunch
3. Ice Hockey
4. Reading on a big sofa
5. Pottery in Art Class
6. New Friends
7. Hot Tea every morning before reading!

So, it was a great day for the kids! What a relief. I was a nervous wreck all day!

First Day of School - Again

Today the kids actually had their first day of school. They were very nervous! Jourdan had a stomach ache and Meg had tears in her eyes. I have no doubt that they are going to do great, but being a Mom I'm a little nervous for them. I will let you know later today how they did. Keep your fingers crossed!!!

No School - Snow Day

Monday was supposed to be Jourdan and Meg's first day at their new school. The phone rang at 6:00 am and it was the school principal saying there was no school. The kids were excited, but a little stressed there wasn't school. The kids just wanted to get the first day of school over with. The principal did invite us to the school to get the grand tour. I am really happy the principal went out of her way to make sure the kids are comfortable. The kids got to see their classrooms, lunch room, gym, computer room, art room etc... The class sizes are really small. Only 15 kids per class. Jourdan is really excited because next month the 5th graders will go up to a local ski resort and go snowshowing!!! Here are a few pics from their unexpected day off...
